The New Year was off to a flying start in the PPP/CTN Fantasy League, and what better time to welcome the resurrection of Wayne Rooney. The Man United hitman has been long overdue a return to form, and his goal and assist against West Brom earned him a share of the spotlight in the Dream team with 12 points.
Also banking a dozen points was Stoke’s Kenwyne Jones, who mirrored Rooney’s achievements exactly.
As seems to be the norm, our weekly winner of a US$20 phone voucher and T-shirt from Cellcard made the most of the skipper multiplier. By choosing Rooney as captain for 24 points, So Narin clinched the weekly spoils with his team Narin Sporting Club.
Narin’s total of 73 points was made possible by other top picks such as Spurs starman Gareth Bale (9), Arsenal’s sizzling Samir Nasri (8) and Man City top stopper Joe Hart (8).
