Despite gaining five points, Nigeria failed to make any move in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Wednesday. The country kept their 32nd place on the rankings, and fourth in Africa.
Egypt remain the continent's top-ranked team, despite dropping down a place to 10th in the world rankings.
Algeria were the only other team in the continent's top 5 to drop down. They also lost one place to 36th. Along with Nigeria, second-placed Ghana and third-placed Cote d'Ivoire remained on 16th and 21st place respectively.
Nigeria's African Nations Cup rivals also remained relatively stagnant. Guinea, the only one of those countries in Africa's top 10 failed to improve on their 46th position in Africa and comfortably held on to their 10th position on the continent.
Ethiopia, who play the Super Eagles next, are way down in 124th position in the world and 33 in Africa while Madagascar saw a marginal improvement one place up to 154 in the world but stayed 41st in Africa.
Spain remained the world's top team, as the world's top 10 saw very little change, with only Croatia replacing Egypt in 9th.
