Reigning Nigeria Footballer of the year,Osaze Odemwingie was expected to have arrived in the early hours of today from England for tonight's AIT Football Awards which will hold at the Presidential Hotel in Portharcourt.
The West Brom of England top scorer confirmed to Complete Sports yesterday that he would be leaving later in the night aborad a British Airways flight.
'Yes,I am coming for the awards',Osaze wrote in the text message.
Osaze is the 'defending champion' in the race and will have to contend with two of his Eagles teammates,midfielder Kalu Uche who plays in the Spanish Primera division for UD Almeria and Hapoel Tel Aviv's Vincent Enyeama whose heroics at the 2010 FIFA World Cup ensured the Super Eagles were not humiliated by Argentina in the team's opening group game.
Meanwhile topshots of the Nigeria Football Federation will this morning storm Port Harcourt to identify with the AIT Annual Football Awards.
NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari will lead the delegation that includes chairman of technical
committee, Barrister Chris Green, incidentally the Chairman of the Rivers State Football Association, Member of the NFF Executive Committee Ahmed Yusuf and the Acting General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu.
“It is a noble thing, so we must identify with it. The new NFF administration will always identify with excellence and equally notice those who reward excellence”, NFF President Aminu Maigari said on Monday evening.
