Martin Skrtel headed Liverpool in front from a corner early in the second half.
Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina denied Baggies striker Simon Cox but Brunt equalised after Sotirios Kyrgiakos fouled Peter Odemwingie.
Brunt struck the winner after Reina brought down Odemwingie as WBA boss won against his former club.
