Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has backed striker Victor Anichebe for the role he played in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
The 23-year old Nigerian, who started just his seventh league match of the season, was a major contributor to the Toffees' triumph and his showing was well-received by Howard who feels that Anichebe can become top quality if he continues to work hard.
"We say it all the time, the belief that the coaching staff and the players have in Victor is unreal," Howard told evertontv.
"He's a tough ask for anybody and if we continue to motivate him and if he continues to motivate himself on the training pitch and he's able to put in performances like that.”
