Dede: Enyeama’s Record Will Inspire Me

The heroics of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama at the 2010 FIFA World Cup which culminated in his being awarded with the Best Goalkeeper award by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), according to Super Falcons first choice keeper, Precious Dede, will inspire her to give her all at the FIFA Women’s World Cup which will hold in Germany between June 26 and July 17, 2011.

Dede told Complete Sports that she hopes to have a better outing than his male counterpart.
“I was happy with the awards coming the way of Vincent Enyeama and I really think it will impact positively in my own performance in Germany.

“He has paid his dues and it will gladden my heart if I achieve all that he has done for his club and country.

“Goalkeepers hardly get recognised or win awards as much as the outfield players but the likes of Vincent has lifted that banner and I think it’s time the organisers of these awards paid close attention to the performance of goalkeepers and defenders alike,” Dede who captained Eucharia Uche’s team to the Africa Women’s Championship triumph in South Africa last year stated
