Nigeria's Super Eagles on Monday donated a portion of their earnings from the 2010 World Cup to the Abuja Motherless Babies Home.

Captain Joseph Yobo, who made the presentation on behalf of the squad, said the team were conscious of their responsibilities as ambassadors and hoped the gesture would go some way to easing the lives of the motherless.

"We kept some of the money from our World Cup bonuses and the whole squad agreed that we should do something for the less privileged so that their lives can be eased a bit," Yobo said.

Children from the Home were at the Super Eagles training in Monday with their Matron to accept the cash donation and have a photo session with the team.
