SIMON KALIKA YET TO SECURE NIGERIAN VISA

Complete Sports has been informed that Super Eagles first assistant coach, Dutchman Simon Kalika is yet to secure a Nigerian visa, few days to the big encounter between Nigeria and Ethiopia.

The Dutchman who was in the United States of America for the botched Green Bowl Soccer Tournament had to return to Holland since his Nigerian visa had expired.

A source in the Super Eagles revealed to Complete Sports that Kalika who was part of the country’s 2008 Beijing Olympic squad, had applied for a visa renewal in Holland but yet to be granted.

It was also gathered that the soccer tactician is seeking for the Nigeria Football Federation’s assistance in ensuring that the visa renewal is given speedy attention.

“The information we had was that Kalika is yet to get his visa and that is why he could not follow us to Lagos when we were coming from the United States of America,” the source said.

According to the source, if he is able to get his visa renewed before the week runs out or early next week, he will return to Nigeria before March 14 when the Home Eagles are expected to return to camp.

It would be recalled that the Dutchman travelled out of the country shortly after Nigeria defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 in an international friendly game played in Lagos last month.
