AHMED MUSA’S BRACE LIFTS DUTCH CLUB, VVV VENLO

Super Eagles' attacking winger, Ahmed Musa and his compatriot, Michael Okechukwu Uchebo, played huge parts in helping VVV-Venlo move closer to safety in the fight for survival in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Musa and Uchebo were named men-of-the-match after putting in superb performances in VVV-Venlo's 3-2 win against Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie game on Sunday.
Musa scored twice and Uchebo got the third to hand VVV-Venlo a nervy 3-2 win.
The former Kano Pillars' man scored his first goal of the two on Sunday afternoon on 34 minutes and got a yellow card seconds later alongside Uchebo.
Feyenoord got the leveller 20 minutes into the restart through van Georginio Wijnaldum.
Twenty minutes to full time, Musa got his second of the day to hand VVV-Venlo a 2-1 lead.
But Feyenoord fought back four minutes later to tie the game at 2-2 via Luc Castaignos' goal.
On 77 minutes, former Enugu Rangers' forward, Uchebo, secured the maximum points for VVV-Venlo by poking home the winner.
After the game, Musa and Uchebo were named men-of-the-match, as it was difficult to pick either Nigerian player above the other due to the sterling roles they played in their team's win over Feyenoord.
Musa, however, dedicated his award to Uchebo's father, who passed on last Thursday in Nigeria.
Musa also expressed happiness to hear that his Nigerian Under20 teammates edged Cameroon by 3-2 to win the 2011 Orange African Championship (AYC) at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Sunday.
"I'm happy we won this game because it was important so we play in the (promotion/relegation) playoff. But my man-of-the-match I dedicate the father of my friend and teammate Michael (Uchebo), who died few days ago.
"Also, I'm happy that the Flying Eagles won," Musa said. "I'm happy with that and now I can concentrate on helping VVV-Venlo remain in the top league here (in Holland)."
VVV-Venlo currently occupy 17th position on the table in Holland's topflight with 21 points from 33 games.
