LEADERSHIP: WHO DOES THE CAP FITS?

Highlights
-Gadaffi's return
-Mr. Austine as replacement
-Special Adviser to become President

Many of us are craving for executives to step down and an interim committee to take charge. Pointing out the inefficiencies, power craving, incompetent individuals, bad leadership, abuse of power, wrong people occupying offices, those trying to turn association into personal business and others who feel association can't survive without them. These I would say are very constructive critics. But who elected them into various offices? You did! Are you having no faith on people you elected? Ones you campaigned and cast your vote for. I am not quite sure my guesses are right and people should have a rethink on their actions.

Human management is most difficult management. No man's an island of knowledge when it comes to managing people especially Nigerians. Nigeria as a country have been very unlucky choosing leaders so I'm not surprised of the happenings amongst us now. People are very smart which makes it really difficult to weigh their intentions properly before assuming offices. All eggs are not bad. Few amongst the executives are very reliable and trust worthy. They have been very incapacitated due to reasons known to them and they can get very efficient if given the freelance to work.

Back to main issue. who does the cap fits to lead us? I wasn't surprised at all when I over heard certain group of people asking for the return of former president Mr. Ken Gadaffi. This is same Gadaffi everyone wanted out at all cost. He was accused of misleading the association. He faced different kinds of allegations and was marked wrong then talked out of office even though he never wanted to leave office. The common phenomena of Africa leaders.

To join the race is Mr. Austine. Former presidential aspirant who withdrew his candidacy at the very last minutes. The seemly successor to incumbent president but forces after him (opposition party) caused the gentle man to sub core to pressure mounted on him and according to reliable sources, its for "peace to reign". However, he failed to address Nigerians before and after his withdrawal. Whoever advised Mr. Austine to stepped down has done a great damage on him. The move has bastardized his image and political career. As a matter of fact, this will make people to have second thoughts on him as to trust him. Leadership is living for the people. Fighting a just cause and convincing your followers to believe in your ambitions.

Amongst is Mrs. Fatima Joshua. The present vice president who has unlawfully stepped into president seat. No doubt to the fact she's no match for replacement. We are considering people with credibility not perpetrator or  chief master minder of the ungodly.

Then Mr Collins secretary general of the association. He's young man with integrity and honest in most of his dealings. Many believe in him until recent time. Can he be trusted to make a good president nobody knows. Looking at him, there are certain qualities in him that may hinder his candidacy. He's aggressive, powerful speaking habit (crane voice), sees himself as mister perfect, very fast to anger, not very diplomatic in handling issues. One thing sure is that Collins won't take side for any wrong doing. Maybe that's why he's call mister perfect.

Some said the special adviser could do much better. Yes I agreed! He's a man of insight and intellectual capability though being on the hot seat could spring up his deficiency to people so soon. During the table discussion lots of people okay him for the job. Least did they remember that this man is an elderly statesman and special adviser to the association. Someone asked has he truly satisfied Nigerians in his role in advising the executives. No one is without fault man.

This point to the fact that we don't know what we need now if we consider taking on such move. With all due respect, these gentlemen have been tested and its high time we try new hands.Someone who will take up responsibilities and be people's leader. Someone with charisma, someone with great zeal to lift association from its pit. Someone that will reflect good qualities of a leader. For those with inferiority complex and the fear of unknown please take a bold step out and try convince people you can do the job and they will all throw supports behind you. There are no under dogs in politics any more. Believe in yourself.
